Učka Nature Park - the hiking paradise

At doorsteps of Villa Manus lies the Učka Nature Park, a protected area rich in biodiversity, with lush forest vegetation, spacious grasslands and spectacular views on Kvarner bay and Istria. It covers an area of 160 km2 and extends along the eastern coast of Istrian peninsula. The mount Učka is one of the symbols of this region and the highest Istrian mountain.

Since it is a mountain it offers great hiking possibilities and for those who like to spend a day in a nature and have an active day it's ia must! One of its highlights is the highest peak Vojak on 1401 m. In just a few hours one of many hiking trails will lead you from the picturesque little towns on the Riviera over the wooded hills of Učka to Vojak. Once you reached the peak you will be astonished by the view.

From the lookout point, reminiscent of medieval tower, extends a full 360 degree stunnig panoramic view – the Istrian peninsula, north Adriatic islands, the mountains of Gorski Kotar, the peaks of the Slovenian and Italian Alps and even Venice can be seen on a clear day

The most popular trail (the hike lasts 1,5 h) to Vojak starts from the central location of the Park called Poklon and will lead you through thick beach forest, over the mountain peak ridge with several view points. The possibilities to explore this protected area are great since it has more than 150 km of hiking trails leading from all the direction. You can start your hike from Villa Manus and end in Mošćenička Draga for a swim after a good day of hike.

We highly recommend using the Učka Nature Park map that can be bought at Villa Manus!
